Julio César Andújar, who is popularly known as The Cu6an, Macario Galán or Dj Lakshmi, is a well-known artist, music producer, and performer of Cuban and Galician heritage. He started his career in the entertainment industry as a classically trained stage actor but later transitioned into music production in Hollywood. He joined legendary Spanish/Cuban rap pioneers Mellow Man Ace and Sen Dogg of Cypress Hill as a music producer and backup rapper.He has produced sessions for major labels such as BMG, UMG, and Flip/Interscope, at prestigious Los Angeles studios like Conway, the Record Plant, and the Village. As an independent music producer and composer, he has created library music and campaigns for Killer Tracks, Vivendi, Boeing, Hot Wheels, Thor MX, ESPN,Univision and many more.

In the late 1990s, The Cu6an emerged as a pioneering figure in American Electronic music by focusing solely on original production and live performance and rejecting djing. He was one of the early American pioneers of a new style that emerged from UK Rave Acid House culture, initially called Jungle, which later evolved into what is now known as Drum and Bass. His collaborations with UK notables like Dom & Roland, Nico, Fierce, and the Usual Suspects, and his crafting of a distinctive, Latin-inspired, Tech-Step sound and engaging live performance style, catapulted him to prominence as a headliner at early American raves, festivals, and underground parties from 1997 to 2016 as a member of the WE ARE ONE collective of artists.

WE ARE ONE was founded by the late West Coast promoter and impresario Marcus Lara and expressed spiritual and uplifting themes in the early Rave movement, being instrumental in the legendary Narnia massives and bringing to light selfless service and community work into party culture. The collective featured early live acts and DJs such as Funky Sam’s 747, Conscious Groove, IOS, Miles Maeda, and Cirrus.

Besides Drum and Bass, The Cu6an also explored and released traditional and Progressive House, Techno, Downtempo, and soundscapes designed for wellness practices. He has performed and released music under various aliases such as the Cuban, Macario Galán, DJ Lakshmi, Call Upon Power (band) all under the affiliation FORCES OF LIGHT.

As The Cu6an continues to push the boundaries of his artistic expression, he has recently delved into immersive and visual experiences, becoming proficient in programming 3D, AR, and VR technologies. This new dimension of his work simulates spiritual and psychedelic experiences, harnessing the therapeutic potential of sound and vision for wellness and healing.
